In the UK, Shrove Tuesday is also Known as Pancake
Day. It’s the day before Ash Wednesday and the start
of Lent. The date varies each year. It’s either in
February or in March. This year is on Tuesday 8
March.
On that day it is traditional to eat pancakes,
( a pancake is a thin, flat cake, made of batter
and fried in a pan ) toss pancakes and take part in
pancake races. At school we learn a song about how
to make pancakes and we have an original pancake
race.
