The 31st of October is a very special
day: it’s Halloween. Children dress up as witches,
ghosts, monsters and vampires.
They make a face from a pumpkin –that’s a big round
orange vegetable. They put a candle inside and they
can see it in the dark.
They play “bobbing for apples”. They try to
take apples out of the water with their mouths. It’s
very difficult because they can’t use their hands.
At Halloween boys and girls visit houses and say
“Trick or Treat” and people give them sweets.
In our school, we learn about Halloween in our
English and Art & Crafts lessons. We celebrate this
special day by making some crafts, listening songs,
watching videos and performing a theatre play.
